ELECTION 2015: VOTE ARTS AND CULTURE
For the past nine years, arts and culture have undergone unprecedented cuts to funding: challenges that have resulted in shuttered archives at government institutions, theatres losing their funding due to censorship, and enormous cuts to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). There have also been cuts to Telefilm, expropriations of copyright ownership through Bill C-11, and cuts to funds for touring and exporting Canadian arts to the world. It is time for change.
To this end, we are committed to compiling information to keep you informed on voting arts and culture throughout the election. We will provide links to editorial content, materials you can use to advocate, and news and polling information. We ask that you stay informed, and make the choice that you believe best supports arts and culture in Canada.
Please visit this site often, and VOTE on October 19.
